Deriv: MT5, markets, demo account and key checks

Explore Deriv’s features and the checks to make before opening an account. This guide helps you compare the platform with your trading plan without promising results.

What is Deriv?

Deriv provides platforms for derivatives trading. Identify the contracting entity in the terms: availability and applicable protections depend on your country and account. A brand being accessible in Brazil does not establish local authorisation.

Markets and MetaTrader 5

Official Deriv MT5 documentation lists CFDs on forex, shares, cryptocurrencies and other markets, as well as derived indices. Gold and stock indices also feature in its market offering. Your terminal’s catalogue depends on your account: check its symbols and contract specifications.

Demo account: practise first

A demo account uses virtual funds and lets you learn the platform without depositing real money. Use it to observe orders, spreads and your routine. Demo results do not guarantee identical execution or performance on a real account.

Expert Advisors and tools

The MT5 desktop terminal supports Expert Advisors compatible with MQL5. Web and mobile terminals do not run EAs as the desktop does. Check requirements, code provenance and permissions. Test costs, failure scenarios and assumptions; no robot or indicator eliminates losses.

Deposits, minimum amounts and PIX in Brazil

The official help centre states a lowest Wallet deposit of USD 5, but limits vary by method and appear in the cashier. This is not a universal minimum for every payment method or MT5 account. PIX could not be confirmed in the public official sources reviewed: check your Brazilian account’s cashier or contact support about the provider, fees and limits before depositing.

Who might consider it?

It may be worth studying if you need to evaluate forex, other CFDs or MT5 automation. Compare costs, instruments, support and requirements with your workflow. If you do not understand leverage and margin, focus first on education and demo practice.

Risks and a pre-account checklist

CFDs and other derivatives carry high risk; leverage increases exposure and losses. Read margin, stop-out, swap, withdrawal and service terms. Keep risk capital separate from your emergency funds. Check the relevant entity and official registers before depositing.
