Step by step
Confirm compatibility and save the previous file and inputs privately. Review open positions and orders: replacing a file does not close trades or automatically transfer management.
Pause execution and remove the old chart instance. Locate File > Open Data Folder > MQL5 > Experts. Close the terminal and replace the EX5 with the validated version, following dependency instructions.
Restart, refresh Navigator and attach the new version. Review every input; an older .set may not match. Test on demo and inspect logs. Ask the developer before updating if management of existing positions is undocumented.
